Why we care
We often forget, because ocean life seems so vastly different from human life. But we depend on each other.
The ocean and its contents supply so much of the resources we use daily on both a small and large scale. For instance, 50% of the world’s oxygen comes from algae in the ocean in order to help us breathe; fishing not only provides us with protein but it provides people with jobs; the ocean regulates our carbon dioxide emissions to preserve a climate fit to live in.
But this can only provide for us for so long in this cycle of taking and no giving.
The more we take from the ocean without properly protecting and nurturing it, the more crucial resources we lose. Human activities cause ocean warming, eutrophication and plastic pollution which all lead to detrimental consequences we are already experiencing today.

Here at Concordia, we believe that together we must prevent our gradual destruction of marine life by remembering how much it provides us with and returning equal respect towards it.
Education followed by meaningful action is paramount. We are guided by this statement, and have created this solution to aid in this mission.
